D`air to believe you are going to have lots of winners on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Racing Festival and you might find a few fancied tips in this preview.

Rileys will be showing Cheltenham live on the BIG SCREENS this week so here we preview whats hot to trot and whats not! With the clouds looming large above the Prestbury course and most of the country, you may be best inside to watch todays action!

The first live race is the Supreme Novice Hurdle, going to post at 1:30 pm and this could be a lively 18 runner race. Last year this was won by 6 year old Summerville Boy. We hope to hit the bookies with the Twiston-Davies horse AL DANCER readily available at the 4/1 mark with bookmakers. Our tip is a course and distance winner and is unbeaten over 4 starts over hurdles. Most notably the four wins are on soft or good to soft ground.

The Racing Post Arkle is up at 2:10 and is arguably one of the weakest fields for many festivals. The bookies have Glen Forsa at the front of the betting. Given he has gone from winning a 3 miler at Chepstow to Arkle favourite in 3 runs is suspect at best. We are taking the HARDLINE in this race and backing a Gordan Elliott win for Ireland.

By now hopefully you will be in profit from our first 2 tips! So the 24 runner 2:50 Ultima Handicap Chase could be one to avoid, or at best shut your eyes and pick a horse! An each way tip here is GENERAL PRINCIPLE, the Irish National hero who will fancy the ground is trading around 20/1.

Champion Hurdle time! We are all over course and distance winner and reigning champ BUVEUR D`AIR in this one. The big Irish Challenger to him is Apples Jade for Gordan Elliott. The reigning champ looked in great form as he arrived today.

At 4:10 its the Mares Hurdle and you cant look further than a Willie Mullins horse in this one, Mullins horses have claimed 9 of the last 10 races, he runs 5 this year. Its hard to see beyond last years winner BENIE DES DIEUX the short price favourite. We fancy an each way dabble on talented ELIMAY.

That`s our live racing tipping preview for Day 1. Make sure you shop around for the best odds with many bookmakers having offers on. Sky Bet are doing Money Back if you Lose on the 1:30, up to £20 refund.
