Age Restrictions

Q. Are there any rules regarding age restrictions of juniors at Rileys?

A. Juniors are very welcome at Rileys but age restrictions vary considerably from club to club and according to licensing laws. Please use our Club Finder page to locate the club you wish to attend, and use the contact form or telephone details on that page to enquire directly with the club as to their prevailing policy on children and under 18’s.

Charity and donations

Q. Can you support our charity?

A. Rileys are committed to the principle of corporate support of good causes, but at present our efforts are fully focused on the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign. We therefore regret that we are unable to offer support at this time for any other charities.

Cost of play at Rileys

Q. Does the cost of play include cue hire?

A. Yes, cue hire is included in the cost of play.

Q. How much does it cost to Play at Rileys?

A. This varies considerably depending on the venue, the day played and the time played. There are also various offers that are subject to change, such as buy two hours, get one free. We are presently rolling out online table booking for all our clubs which will allow you to check precisely the cost of play. However this is only available on a few select clubs. If you wish to determine the precise cost of play at one of our clubs presently unsupported by online table booking, please use our clubfinder page to select the club you are interested in playing at, and email or phone the club directly. Q. Can I do my Work Experience at Rileys?

A. Unfortunately, we cannot offer work experience placements at Rileys due to licensing laws.

Groups & Parties

Q. A group of us would like to visit, but none (or very few) of us are members.

A. Local clubs will be pleased to offer special discounts for groups. Generally a group of 8 or more persons can obtain a discounted membership rate. If you have further questions, please find the club you are interested in visiting on our clubfinder page and contact them directly either by phone, or the e-mail form provided.

Q. Can I hire the club for an event?

A. Please contact the club directly and ask to speak to the club Manager or Assistant Manager. You can find contact details on our club finder page.

Q. Do you cater to Parties and Group events?

A. Yes. Our clubs put on great parties. You can visit our party page for information about the party packages we offer and make a party enquiry directly with the Rileys Club you would like to celebrate at. Please note: Rileys head office cannot enter in correspondence about parties. Please contact your local club for further information.

How do I book a table?

Q. Should I book in advance?

A. We would recommend booking in advance as this guarantees you a table at the time of your choice. However, it is possible to book at the time of arrival if tables are free. You can book online with many of our clubs, or by phone or email. Please note, head office cannot take bookings. Please contact your local club directly to make a booking. You can find your nearest club and their contact details on our club finder page.

Q. What ways are available to book a table?

A. Tables can be booked for many of clubs online. You can also book by phoning or emailing a club directly. Please note that head office cannot make bookings. You must contact the club you wish to play in directly. You can locate your nearest club by using our club finder page.

Membership

Q. Can I renew my membership online?

A. Not at this time. You will need to visit the club you are a member of to renew your membership.

Q. Can I use my membership card in any Rileys?

A. Yes, your membership card will be accepted in any Rileys club.

Q. Do I have to be a member to play at Rileys?

A. You can play at Rileys as a Day Member, but this will attract a change every time you play. Membership brings with it a host of benefits and we are presently running a special Try For Free promotion which entitles you to free entry to a club of your choice and an hour of free table play.

Q. Do I need to bring ID to join Rileys?

A. If you are over 18, please bring any of the following. • New photographic Driving Licence • A utility bill with your name and address on it. • NUS Card for students Junior members will need to have a Guardian’s consent to join.

Q. How do I get my membership card?

A. Memberships are generally issued when you first visit your club and complete a membership form. Persons who have joined online by filling in the form on the Rileys website need only sign the form when attending for the first time.

Q. How do I join?

A. Because we are a members only club, you are required to fill in a membership form which you must sign. You must also provide proof of ID if requested. Membership forms can be filled in when you first visit the club of your choice, or you may fill in a form online which will be available for you to sign when you visit the club.

Q. How many guests can I sign in?

A. As a member you can sign in three guests as Day Members.

Q. How much does it cost to Join Rileys

A. The latest membership prices can always be checked on specific club pages, which can be found with our club finder page.

Q. I changed address; do I need to let you know?

A. It’s important that we can keep in touch with you. Just let the club know the next time you visit and they’ll update your details.

Q. I joined in one club, but want to renew in another.

A. Technically speaking you cannot renew your membership in any club other than the one you joined in. However, there is nothing to prevent you creating a new membership in a different club when it comes time for you to renew.

Q. I've lost my membership card!

A. Just contact your local Rileys club and they will arrange to issue you a new card. Clubs may make a small administrative charge at their discretion.

Q. Do Rileys franchise any of their clubs?

A. Not at this time.

Q. Do you have a dress code?

A. No, but we do reserve the right to refuse admittance at the managers discretion.

Q. Does Rileys buy or sell Pool and Snooker tables?

A. Rileys are often confused with the company Riley, which is a manufacturer of cuesports equipment. We do not therefore sell Pool or Snooker tables, nor can we assist with the refurbishment of tables, or buy used tables.

Q. Have Rileys got any new clubs opening?

A. You can check for announcements on this site. Also any new club openings are advertised well beforehand locally.

Online Table Booking

Q. How do I change booking details prior to payment?

A. There are six steps to making a booking which you will find described on the booking pages. On steps 1 to 3, you may click the "go back" link to return to a previous step. From step 4 onwards, to go back you must close the pop out window and return to step 3.

Q. I booked a table but now I can’t play on the requested date. Can I change the date and time of play?

A. Unfortunately once your online booking has been confirmed and payment received we are unable to cancel or ammend the booking. Therefore please make sure that you and any guests you invite to play are available on the day and time you have chosen. Please refer to our terms and conditions (paragraphs 2 and 17) for futher details.

Q. I was not able to play. Can I request a refund?

A. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds in the event that you or any guests you invited were unable to attend on the date and time you booked. Please refer to our terms and conditions (paragraphs 2 and 17) for further details.

Q. My booking failed, but now the table shows booked

A. It is possible that due to circumstances beyond our control, you might lose your Internet connection during the booking process. Should this happen before you make a payment, it is possible that you will find your selected table showing as booked, but receive no confirmation email of a booking. Should this happen, you will almost certainly not have been charged. In order to prevent double bookings of the same table, as soon as you select a table time, the table and time in question is marked as booked in our system. Should you fail to proceed to the payment page, the table will remain marked as booked for approximately 30 minutes. It will then clear and be available to book again.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

A. The following cards are accepted.

Mastercard, Visa Credit, Visa Debit, JCB, Maestro, Solo

Q. Why can't under 18s book online

A. Due to the varied nature of licensing laws, we cannot allow persons under 18 to book online. This stipulation is made in order that we are not obliged to refuse entry should a person under 18 book to play at a time restricted by a club license. If you are under 18 and wish to book a table, please contact the club by phone or email, or enquire directly at the club.

Poker

Q. Can I play for money?

A. Yes, but subject to limits on stakes and prizes set by the Gambling Commission. We currently run £5 and £10 Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments, together with regional and national tournaments.

Q. Can I play poker just with my friends, rather than join a tournament?

A. Yes. We have ‘Sit n Go’ tables available at all times. For a returnable deposit, you can get chips, cards and the use of the table. Just ask at Reception.

Q. Can I play poker online with Rileys?

A. Yes. Visit RileysPoker.com and get a first deposit bonus of £30 in Vouchers to spend in your local Rileys, plus up to 200% deposit bonus!

Q. Can under 18’s play poker at Rileys?

A. No. Poker is only available to members who are over 18.

A. You need to visit your local club in person.

Vouchers & Offers

Q. I think I should have received a voucher or offer.

A. From time to time Rileys provide promotional offers to members both at the club and via email and the post. The type and frequency of the offers vary according to the time of the year and the Marketing strategy at the time. Therefore, some members will receive offers at different times to others, but overall, all members will be able to benefit from in-club table and drinks offers, and they may also receive occasional promotional offers via the post or by email. We regret we are unable to reissue vouchers that have been mislaid or have expired, nor those that have failed to arrive due to circumstances beyond our control.
